The cat's out of the bag! @emilymbender and I are pleased to bring you THE AI CON, forthcoming at Harper Books in Spring 2025. Thanks so much to Ian Bonaparte for shepherding this project.
In the interim, if you love our work, you can jump in and listen to Episode 26 of Mystery AI Hype Theater 3000 and work your way back through our archive.
Gute Nachricht für alle Interessierten: Die Teilnahme am morgigen Workshop "How to Preserve Diverse Data in a Monolingual Environment: Introducing the Project Closing the Gap in Non-Latin-Script Data" ist auch online möglich.

Reading Bob DuCharme's "Maintaining Schemas for Pipelined Stages" http://www.snee.com/xml/schemaStages.html
I think it is not only about stages in a pipeline, but also about schemas for different audiences. I.e. editing a digital scholarly edition vs. publishing vs. quality assurance.
We are sponsoring #xmlprague again this year.
This includes paying for up to 5 full conference passes plus accommodation for students.
Students, please apply informally by replying to this toot or by writing to letexml@le-tex.de.
If the conference dates (June 6–8) don’t interfere with exam season, use this opportunity to meet your future employers in the fields of publishing, technical writing, semanctic data, etc. And to have a drink on us.
https://www.xmlprague.cz/
Please boost for wider reach.
Disappointed there does not seem to be any open data initiative to catalogue which books are available in which libraries.
The major player in the field, #WorldCat, is driven by a cooperative (#OCLC), but the membership fees are, ahem, substantial. I don't doubt they spend that money on their many tools and projects, but I suspect something more open and narrowly scoped could be much more accessible.
Am I missing any promising initiative?

Ever wondered how to tackle #multilinguality in #digitaleditions? In our @up_johd contribution (https://doi.org/10.5334/johd.174) we describe how we tackled #codeswitching, Early New High German #normalisation, #machinetranslation, and #HTR for #Bullinger's multilingual correspondence. The results are all on bullinger-digital.ch. And should be at the #openUpEditions conference @uzh_zde right now and have questions, feel free to ask. #digitalhumanities

This year's tango season started yesterday with a cozy milonga dedicated to Enrique Rodríguez. Very lively danceable music.
